SOLIDWORKS World – Day 3

This is it folks, Day 3, the last day of SOLIDWORKS 2017. You’ve made it through the Technical Sessions, the meetings, the dinners and of course the party last night in Paramount Studios. You just need to stay focused for a few more hours!

We started today, as always, with the General Session. As always there were many speakers, but some of the highlights are below.

Kishore Boyalakuntla talking about what we can expect in the coming year from SOLIDWORKS

Farmer, Sustainability Expert and Futurist Duane Elgin talking about the IoT and Sustainable Farming.

Anousheh Ansari talking about realising her childhood dreams of space travel and her involvement in the Ansari X Prize. We also had breaking news that SOLIDWORKS 2018 will be back here in Los Angeles, so put February 4th to 7th, 2018 in your desk calendar, smartphone or indeed filofax!

So, the DraftSight Technical Training Sessions yesterday were a great success with users. We tried something different with the DraftSight General Session, we lived streamed it on Twitter and the response was beyond what we expected. We are already planning for SOLIDWORKS 2018!

The Technical Training Sessions continue today and there’s still plenty to see and do on the resellers convention. Don’t be shy either, call over the the DraftSight Booth (419) and pick up some freebies!

The first time I used CAD, it was on a DOS PC with an 8088 processor, 640K of memory and a Hercules Mono Graphics Card... That, well that was a long long time ago. I switched to DraftSight the day it was released and haven't looked back!
