DraftSight: Try Quick Modify!
Visit DraftSight.com to explore DraftSight 2019 and learn how you can experience the freedom to do more with a better 2D drafting and 3D design experience.
I’m always most satisfied with my experience in DraftSight when I’ve taken advantage of tools that make my sessions less time consuming and more productive.
That said, this blog highlights the Quick Modify feature, which grants access to the Copy, Move, Rotate, and Scale functions all within one command – adding fluidity and ease to your drawing process.
Located under the Modify section of the Home tab in the ribbon, the Quick Modify feature is positioned in the drop-down menu of the Copy icon.
When selected, you’ll be prompted to specify your entity in the drawing window, and then press enter. You’ll then choose a base point, which is the source location of where your entities are modified.
Lastly, DraftSight lists your revising options, including Base, Copy, Move, Rotate, and Scale. Each choice operates exactly how their names suggest they would, and give the same results as if they were chosen individually from the ribbon.
The only difference is that rather than having to return to the ribbon for every new feature, you can specify each function sequentially in the command window – quickening and enhancing the flow of your overall drawing experience.
Keep in mind that you have the option to change your Base location at any time, along with the ability to undo and exit Quick Modify whenever you please.
I hope this post encourages you to improve your drafting adventures with Quick Modify!
