DraftSight: Save Time with Rich Line

Visit DraftSight.com to explore DraftSight 2019 and learn how you can experience the freedom to do more with a better 2D drafting and 3D design experience.

Continuing the theme of discovering more time efficient and accurate ways to work in DraftSight, the Rich Line feature effortlessly inserts two consecutive parallel lines. I’ve found it to be perfect for quickly drawing boundaries and walls in your architectural designs.

The command is operated identically to the regular Line icon, making it intuitive and easy to use. Simply select the Rich Line option located in the drop down menu of the line feature, and DraftSight will prompt you with multiple drawing options: Justification, Scale, and Style.

Starting with Justification, it alters the location of your cursor while inserting Rich Lines. If selected, you’ll be instructed to specify if you want your cursor positioned on the top, bottom, or in between your parallel lines – granting optimal control in the drawing window.

Likewise, the Scale option allows you to customize the distance between your lines to best suit your drawing.

Lastly, Style does exactly what its name suggests – it changes the appearance of your lines by specifying a style name.

I hope this post encourages you to increase productivity with Rich Line!
