DraftSight For The AutoCAD User – 3DEXPERIENCE WORLD 2021 Day 2

It’s Day 2 of 3DEXPERIENCE WORLD 2021. Did you enjoy yesterdays virtual session on the new features in DraftSight 2021? We hope you did!

Todays session at 13:45 – 14:15 EST (18:45 – 19:15 GMT) is DraftSight for the AutoCAD User and is hosted by Don Glaske (Manager, CAM Services, Computer Aided Technology).

So, what can you expect from this session? Well, attendees will be exposed to the many benefits and the low learning curve when transitioning and using DraftSight as it relates to AutoCAD. You’ll learn just how similar DraftSight is to AutoCAD and you will see how you can use your existing autoLISP commands from AutoCAD in DraftSight.

You will also learn how to use your custom commands from AutoCAD and how to create your own personal custom commands in DraftSight.

Don will show you how to set up User profile customizations and toolbars and explore batch printing options in DraftSight and set your DraftSight user experience like AutoCAD with similar settings, profiles, AutoLISP routines, keyboard shortcuts and even .dcl file menus.

SOLIDWORKS User will get an understanding of the similarities they will see when using DraftSight and learn to take advantage of SOLIDWORKS API’s while in DraftSight and get a taste of what’s new in DraftSight 2021.

I’ve attended this session every year I’ve been to 3DEXPERIENCE WORLD / SOLIDWORKS World and always come away with some tips I was previously not aware of. I highly recommend this session!

The first time I used CAD, it was on a DOS PC with an 8088 processor, 640K of memory and a Hercules Mono Graphics Card... That, well that was a long long time ago. I switched to DraftSight the day it was released and haven't looked back!
