DraftSight Free Versions – Time to Upgrade

We’ve spoken about this previously on this blog, but just in case you are not aware, all free versions of DraftSight will go end of life on Dec 31st 2019.

So, what are your options?

Well, if the free version of DraftSight did everything you needed it to do, then the obvious upgrade path would be to Draftsight Standard at a cost of $99.00 a year.

If, on the other hand you would like to customise your DraftSight install, Draftsight Professional gives you all the functionality of DraftSight Standard, but with the added ability to access the DraftSight API and Lisp functionality.  DraftSight Professional costs $199.00 a year.

DraftSight Premium builds on DraftSight Professional and adds 3D Design and Modelling functionality to the user tools.  DraftSight Premium costs $499.00 a year.

Some of the new functionality built in to DraftSight 2019 includes:

We’ve also created blogs detailing the new 3D Functionality within DraftSight Premium.  You can read these blogs  by clicking these links:  Part 1Part 2Part 3 and Part 4.

There’s a lot of reading in those links. I think I’ve covered all the new features in DraftSight in an easy to read format. Hopefully you can find a version of DraftSight that suits your needs.

IMPORTANT:

DraftSight 2019 for Windows® is offered in paid versions only.
Once you download and install DraftSight 2019 (free 30-day trial or purchased version), you will no longer be able to re-download or access any previous free version of DraftSight (2018 or earlier). All free versions of DraftSight (2018 or earlier) will cease to run after 12/31/2019.

The first time I used CAD, it was on a DOS PC with an 8088 processor, 640K of memory and a Hercules Mono Graphics Card... That, well that was a long long time ago. I switched to DraftSight the day it was released and haven't looked back!
